Could be a long year in Morgantown after the Huggins implosion. Down to eight scholarship players. Kudos to Monmouth and Drexel for their scheduling prowess.

Drexel needs to take the opportunity as well, no doubt. Those games when scheduled were not meant to be real opportunities, but now they are. But we have to take care of business and not get stuck on the name on the front. WVU is a mess though. So great win for Monmouth

Three notable games tonight
Temple vs Drexel. Believe this is at the Palestra. Dragons are favored by 4.5. Nice win opportunity for Drexel.
Northeastern @ Harvard. The Crimson are 2-0.
Hofstra @ GW. We fell by 6. Will be interesting to see how the Pride shows here. Like to see them win.

This is at the DAC. New format this year for the Big Five. Drexel was admitted and the 6 teams were broken into 2 pods of 3 teams each. So each team plays 2 games (1 home and 1 away) and then there is a triple header at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly with the bottom 2 teams starting follow by the middle 2 teams and then the championship game between the top 2 teams. If Drexel beats Temple tonight it is likely all of the teams will end up 1-1 in their pods, which the tiebreaker is the NET ranking to determine each's opponent at the WFC.
This is the first time Drexel has hosted Temple at home since 1985

Really like this a lot!! Wish that the Commonwealth of Virginia could get a November tourney for all the state basketball schools. Even if it was a rotating 8 teams per year, it would be great and reasonable travel.

Proving that Northern Virginia isn't actually part of Virginia, no GMU.
But what did Radford do to offend?
EDIT: Actually, since UVa and Tech might balk at participating (since they're too good for the rest of us), we could add GMU and Radford and have a nice 12-team field.

Richmond hosted the Times Dispatch Invitational when the Richmond Coliseum opened - normally held during the holidays and at a time when no one was in the same conference. VCU and Richmond were in most each year and rotated UVA and Virginia Tech. W&M appeared in the 1979 TDI I think. Anyway, the tourney eventually fizzled like many other things. I think it had a 10 year or more run. It was quite the tough ticket in its day.
The Richmond Coliseum also hosted the UVA/Va Tech game every other year. Another tough ticket and was a great atmosphere. This was before the two were in the ACC together.

GW beat Hofstra 71-60. No attempt by Hofstra to apply full court pressure down the stretch.

I saw that, unbelievable! Did no one on Hofstra's staff catch the end of our game?!
Guess Bishop really is that good.

I remember that. Nothing other than the local ADs preventing that from happening. There are enough VA schools that you could even have 3 groups of 4. But I think a rotating 8 team tourney would be fun for all the teams and fans. Still glad to see the Tribe participating in a Nov tourney regardless of where it is.

Maybe my memory is failing me here, but I vaguely remember W&M playing in an early season tourney at the Richmond Coliseum where we lost in the finals to a St Joseph's team that had the now legendary Boo Williams on it. I think that we started off the season great and that was our first loss. For some reason, I was thinking that it was the same season that we beat UNC, which would make it 1977.
